Pink Slime

Here’s something disgusting found in fast food… Pink slime, also known as lean finely textured beef (LFTB) and boneless lean beef trimmings (BLBT), is a beef-based food additive that may be added to ground beef and beef-based processed meats as an inexpensive filler. It consists of finely ground beef scraps, sinew, fat, and connective tissue, which have been mechanically removed, in a heated centrifuge from the fat into liquid fat and a protein paste. Basically this stuff is straight nasty and we will try and focus on some of this as well in our presentation. This sums up my thoughts exactly: http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/pink-slime-legitimate-concern-or-just-another-phony-scare-invented-to-keep-us-from-being-happy/  “All I need is coffee in the morning, beer when I get home and the cable to be working to keep me happy.  And once a week or so, I want a burger.  Nothing exotic.  Nothing weird. Just give me a couple of pounds of quality ground beef, fresh rolls and the grill on my back deck and I’ll take that over the priciest gourmet meal any foodie can buy anywhere.” –Jerry Thornton
